Young People have been busy this Summer with their i10 Projects

Many young people across West Yorkshire have been busy within their communities over the summer holidays with i10 projects funded by the West Yorkshire Community Trust.  The i10 initiative encourages young people to improve their neighbourhoods.

The projects have been imaginative and varied - there have been mini world cups, tidy ups, cooking lessons, community gardens created and intergeneration days where youths have got to know their local elderly.

The i10 projects themselves have combatted littering, developed communal areas and brought communities together by building relationships that are often never formed.

Here are some of the i10 projects:

As well as improving their local communities, the projects are entered into a competition, judged by the High Sheriff of West Yorkshire, where the winning group can win £1,000.

Project evidence needs to be submitted before 1st Oct when the hard decision of picking the best project begins. Look out in your local media to see what your local i10 project has been doing during the summer.
